  • A breaking apart of an organ or tissues.
rupture of membranes : Rupture of amniotic sac as normal result of dilation of the cervix uteri in labor.

rupture of perineum : Rupture of perineum in labor, a condition that can be prevented by spisiotomy.

rupture of tubes : Rupture of a fallopian tube, a serious event in extrauterine pregnancy. May occur without the woman's knowledge of her pregnancy.

rupture of uterus : Rare rupture due to unrelieved obstructed labor.
